Requirements/ Eligibility criteria
Before you rush to apply, check if you meet the strict eligibility criteria:
- Education:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree (or equivalent) is required
- Must be completed before September 1, 2026
- Relevant fields include: Economics, Finance, Engineering, Public Policy, Education, International Development, Environmental Science, Data Science, Law, Business Administration, etc.
- Doctoral students: If you’re currently in a PhD program, your written work must be substantially complete by September 1, 2026
- Experience:
- 2 to 6 years of professional work experience
- Relevant, full-time employment or doctoral research may count toward this
- Nationality:
- You must be a citizen of a World Bank Group member country
- Valid passport or national ID is required for proof
- Language:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Proficiency in other WBG official languages (Arabic, French, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian) is an advantage
- Employment Status:
- You must not be:
- A current WBG staff member
- Holding an ET (Extended-Term Consultant) or ST (Short-Term Consultant) contract
- Former WBG interns or JPAs can apply (internship must end before September 30, 2025)
