Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships. This prestigious program offers funding opportunities for emerging leaders from Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi to pursue their academic dreams at universities in the United Kingdom and South Africa. The next round of postgraduate scholarships will be awarded for the academic year beginning September 2025 for UK universities, and January 2026 for South African universities.

Requirements/Eligibility Criteria

Academic Excellence: Applicants should ideally hold a Distinction or Merit (Upper Second Class) in their undergraduate degree. While those with Lower Second Class or Credit/Pass degrees can apply, they may face stiff competition among candidates with higher grades.
Professional Work Experience: The Beit Trust prioritizes applicants with at least three years of relevant work experience. This is particularly important in fields such as engineering, medicine, and education, where practical skills complement academic knowledge.
Voluntary Work: While not mandatory, evidence of voluntary engagement can enhance an application and demonstrates a commitment to community development.
Leadership Development: The Trust values candidates who exhibit strong leadership qualities and have the potential to contribute to the economic and social uplift of their countries.
Relevant Course of Study: The Trust focuses on developmental studies, specifically those that advance health, economic growth, and conservation in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. If applicants have queries about the relevance of their chosen degree, they are encouraged to reach out before applying.
Return to Home Country: Willingness to return to one’s home country after completing studies is crucial.
