African Union (AU) Internship Program 2024/2025 For Young Africans

The African Union Internship Program 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for young Africans to gain hands-on experience in various fields. This program is designed for students who are currently enrolled in their final year of a Bachelor’s degree or those who have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree or an advanced/post-graduate qualification in a related academic field. Interns will have the chance to develop professional experience and contribute to impactful projects while working in different departments of the African Union, including Economic DevelopmentHealth and Humanitarian Affairs, and Political Affairs.

Interns will work in key areas such as the Cabinet of the Deputy ChairpersonAgriculture, Rural Development, and Sustainable EnvironmentEconomic Development, Trade, Industry, Mining, and more. This immersive internship offers opportunities for leadership development, enhancing your understanding of pan-Africanism while contributing to global goals through African Union initiatives.


Focus Areas
Interns will have the opportunity to work in the following departments:

  • Cabinet of the Deputy Chairperson
  • Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (ARBE)
  • Economic Development, Trade, Industry, Mining (ETIM)
  • Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (ESTI)
  • Infrastructure and Energy (IE)
  • Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS)
  • Health, Humanitarian Affairs, and Social Development (HHS)

Requirements/Eligibility
To be eligible for the AU Internship Program, applicants must:

  • Be nationals of a Member State of the African Union
  • Be full-time students currently enrolled in the final year of their Bachelor’s or graduate school program
  • Be fluent in at least one of the African Union working languages (Arabic, English, French, or Portuguese)
  • Be no more than thirty-two (32) years old at the time of selection
  • Possess the highest standard of moral conduct and integrity

Duration

  • $1,500 per month for interns from non-African countries
