Generative AI Program 2025: Empowering Nonprofits with Google’s AI Tools and Mentorship

The Accelerator program offers pro bono technical assistance for nonprofits, technical training, and access to free Google Cloud credits to help participants harness the power of Google Cloud Platform’s AI & ML tools, including Vertex AI and Gemini. These resources empower organizations to develop innovative projects that align with Google’s focus on social good and drive impactful change in areas like education, economic opportunity, and crisis response.

Participants will engage in a 6-month program that includes mentorship and generative AI training for nonprofits, culminating in a Demo Day where they will present their prototypes to key stakeholders. Funding from the program can be utilized over 30 months, covering prototype development during the Accelerator and supporting the launch and scaling of projects afterward.

Eligibility/Requirements

  1. Nonprofit status: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with a valid charitable status in their country.
  2. Incorporation: Organizations must have been incorporated for at least two years before applying.
  3. Mission alignment: The proposed project should align with Google’s social impact goals, focusing on education, economic opportunity, and crisis response.
  4. Project proposal: Applicants must submit a clear and compelling project proposal detailing:
    • Goals and objectives.
    • Expected impact and alignment with AI for social good initiatives.
    • Scalability potential and measurable outcomes.
  5. Generative AI component: The project must leverage generative AI tools like Vertex AI and Gemini to address critical social challenges effectively.
  6. Scalability: Projects must demonstrate potential for growth and how to scale nonprofit projects with AI to maximize impact.
  7. Technical expertise: Organizations should have or plan to develop the expertise to utilize advanced AI technologies such as those provided by Google Cloud.
  8. Budget and timeline: Proposals must include a detailed budget and timeline for the project, with a clear focus on achieving project milestones.
