Requirement/Eligibility
To enter the ClimateLaunchpad 2025 competition, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Stage of the Idea: The idea must be at an early stage (not yet a fully established business). If your startup has not yet received more than €200,000 in funding or investments and hasn’t been selling for more than a year, you are eligible.
Focus Areas: Ideas must focus on climate change mitigation or adaptation. Key sectors include renewable energy, food systems, transportation, circular economy, water, urban mobility, waste, and industrial decarbonization.
Team Composition: You can apply as an individual or with a team. However, teams are often preferred as they bring a variety of skills.
Geographic Eligibility: The competition is open to applicants from over 50 countries, including EU member states, parts of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Check the ClimateLaunchpad website for specific participating countries.
Language: Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English, as training and coaching will be conducted in English.
Previous Participation: You may re-apply with a new idea, but previously submitted ideas that reached the Global Grand Final are not eligible again.
Prize
The ClimateLaunchpad 2025 competition offers a range of prizes and benefits:
Cash Prizes: Winners of the Global Grand Final receive cash prizes up to €10,000 for first place, €5,000 for second, and €2,500 for third place.
Business Support: All participants benefit from an intensive Boot Camp, business coaching, and mentoring. Finalists receive further support to refine their pitch and business model.
Exposure & Validation: Finalists gain international exposure by pitching to a global jury of investors, business leaders, and sustainability experts.
Pathway to Accelerator: The top teams gain direct entry into EIT Climate-KIC’s Accelerator program, which supports climate entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and access to markets.
Networking: Build lasting connections with climate-conscious innovators, experts, and investors from around the globe.
