Requirement/Eligibility
To qualify for this elite accelerator, your startup must meet the following criteria:
1. You must be an early-stage fintech company (Seed to Series A) operating in or targeting markets across Africa.
2. Your startup must offer a validated product or MVP with measurable traction.
3. The solution must fall within Visa’s focus areas: new payment flows, embedded finance, merchant/SME services, payment infrastructure, inclusive or sustainable finance, or future of money.
4. Your team must be able to commit to a full 12-week program running from January 12 – April 3, 2026, including live sessions, mentor meetings, and virtual check-ins.
5. Founders or executive team members must attend and pitch at the final Demo Day.
6. Your company must be legally registered and compliant with Visa’s accelerator program terms.
7. You must demonstrate a strong potential for growth, innovation, and market disruption.
8. Fluent English is required for all communications, sessions, and pitch materials.
9. You must be willing to provide testimonials and publicity materials as needed by Visa and Plug and Play.
10. Any necessary travel expenses not covered by the program must be handled by the participant.
Duration/Stipend
The Visa Africa Accelerator Program is a 12-week virtual program that runs from January 12 to April 3, 2026. The program is completely free—Visa does not take equity or ownership of your company. Instead, startups receive:
