AU Media Fellowship (AUMF) 2025–26

The African Union Media Fellowship (AUMF) 2025–26 is a life-changing, 12-month development program designed to empower mid-senior African media professionals, journalists, and content creators to shape the continent’s narrative using cutting-edge digital technologies. Administered by the AU’s Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) in partnership with GIZ, BMZ, and the EU delegation, this fully supported fellowship offers certified training, grants for in-depth reportage, direct access to AU leadership, masterclasses with global media experts, continental study tours, and mentorship—all delivered at no cost to selected fellows .

Over the course of 12 impactful months, fellows will craft powerful multimedia stories aligned with Agenda 2063 themes—such as Gender & Women Empowerment, Trade & Industrialisation, Climate & Agriculture, Digital Innovation, Governance, and Cultural Development. From August virtual induction and media lab workshops, to three immersive study tours (between September and July), and culminating in a final project presentation in August, the AUMF journey is transformational in every sense .
