The Africa Health Collaborative proudly announces the opening of the Mastercard Foundation Doctoral Scholarship recruitment at the University of Toronto for the 2026-2027 academic year. These scholarships target outstanding students from partner universities who are committed to advancing health outcomes in Africa. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and additional costs, including travel, housing, food, books, and other necessary expenses, ensuring scholars can focus fully on their studies and professional development. Scholars will also benefit from a comprehensive support network, orientation sessions, and ongoing academic guidance.
A platform to build skills and knowledge that will directly benefit African communities upon returning home. Up to three Mastercard Foundation Doctoral Scholarships will be awarded for the Doctor of Public Health program.

To qualify, applicants must satisfy all of the following:
Be a citizen currently residing in a Sub-Saharan African country.
Have graduated from one of the Africa Health Collaborative partner institutions and not yet started doctoral-level graduate studies.
Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership during undergraduate and master’s studies.
Be academically admissible to the University of Toronto Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program.
Show a genuine desire and commitment to return to their home country for the last two years of the program to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s economic growth and social development.
