The 18-month paid journalism program is considered one of the most prestigious of its kind in Germany – and beyond. It covers a range of fields and skills, such as TV-moderation, multimedia storytelling, data journalism and working with AI-tools. Requirements/ Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must fulfill the following:
1. Language Proficiency: Native speaker of one of DW’s languages with excellent English and good German skills, or native English speaker with good German skills, or native German speaker with excellent English skills.
2. Education: Completed university degree, college degree, or apprenticeship—preferably in fields such as technology/IT, science, politics, economics, or law.
3. Diverse Backgrounds Welcome: Applicants from all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply — IT specialists, lawyers, physicians, mathematicians, nurses, chefs, pilots, athletes, and referees, among others.
4. Journalistic Experience: Some initial experience in journalism or media production is required.
5. Creativity: A creative mindset to innovate and produce compelling journalistic content.
6. Social Media Skills: Strong expertise in using social media platforms for journalism.
7. Teamwork & Deadlines: Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and collaborate within diverse teams.
