If you’re a changemaker, human rights advocate, journalist, or civic innovator, this is your ultimate chance to position your work at the intersection of AI and justice. 3. Possess a strong interest or current involvement in digital rights, social justice, governance, transparency, civic tech, or media advocacy.
4. Have basic digital literacy and openness to learning advanced AI applications.
5. Be affiliated with an NGO, grassroots movement, media platform, or civic organization—either formally or informally.
6. Demonstrate leadership potential and a history of community engagement.
7. Be available to participate fully in all aspects of the in-person workshop (travel and logistics support may be provided).
8. Have not participated in previous editions of The Nigerian AI Collective’s workshops (new applicants only).
9. Show commitment to applying workshop knowledge to their organizational or community initiatives.
10. Be able to articulate a clear vision or interest in the ethical use of AI in their work during the selection process.
Duration/Stipend
The AI for Civil Society Workshop will run as an intensive, in-person residential program scheduled for a duration of five days, set to take place in the first quarter of 2025. While there is no direct stipend provided, the program is offered at zero cost to selected participants, covering all major expenses including:
