DW Akademie French-Speaking Master’s in International Journalism (MFJI) 2026 – Fully Funded for Media Professionals

Brief Description

The 2026 DW Akademie French-speaking Master’s in International Journalism (MFJI) is now open for applications. This fully funded program targets media professionals from French-speaking countries in North and West Africa that partner with German development cooperation. Priority will be given to candidates permanently residing in Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire.
The MFJI program, launched jointly by DW Akademie and the École publique de journalisme de Tours (EPJT), offers a unique opportunity for journalists and media professionals to gain advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in international journalism. The program equips participants with the skills necessary to excel in a rapidly evolving media landscape, enhance their reporting capabilities, and take on leadership roles within media organizations.
Each year, ten exceptional candidates are selected through a rigorous two-phase selection process. The first phase involves an eligibility assessment based on the submitted application file. The second phase is the admission stage, which includes a written test and an oral interview. Successful applicants receive a merit-based scholarship that fully covers tuition fees, living expenses, and related costs, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to world-class education and training in journalism.
The MFJI program is ideal for media professionals seeking to deepen their expertise, expand their professional network, and enhance their career prospects in national, regional, and international journalism. The program’s curriculum emphasizes investigative journalism, digital media, multimedia reporting, and ethical standards, preparing participants to navigate the complexities of modern journalism effectively.
