National Health Fellowship Program 2025: Opportunities for Young Nigerians in Healthcare

National Health Fellowship Program 2025

The National Health Fellowship Programme is an impactful initiative approved by HE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to transform primary healthcare in Nigeria. This highly competitive fellowship program aims to upgrade existing healthcare centres and establish over 8,800 new centres across all local government areas. The focus is to enhance the Nigerian health sector by promoting healthcare transformation through accessible and quality healthcare delivery, while introducing innovative social accountability mechanisms.

The programme is administered by the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) coordination office under the office of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. Successful fellows will be recruited, remunerated, and equipped with the tools and resources necessary to contribute meaningfully to healthcare development in the country.

The fellowship programme lasts for 12 months and offers a comprehensive training experience, including fieldwork, mentorship, and practical exposure to public health policies. Fellows will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects in the health sector reform space, contributing to the broader global health initiatives aimed at improving the health infrastructure in Nigeria. Participants will also receive hands-on leadership development to build the skills necessary for driving long-term changes in the healthcare system.
