Requirement/Eligibility
1. Applicants must operate a medium or large rice mill within 350 km of Abuja, covering areas in Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, or Kaduna States.
2. Rice mill must have been in operation for at least 3 years.
3. Mill should employ a minimum of 10 staff members, inclusive of management and operations teams.
4. Both Owner/CEO/Manager and at least one key operations staff member must participate fully in all 5 training modules.
5. Mills must demonstrate strong motivation to adopt improved business and technical practices.
6. Mills must be able to commit to the entire 10-month training cycle, including in-person sessions and follow-up coaching.
7. Female participation must be at least 30% in the training. If this is not feasible, a written justification is required.
8. Participants must understand and communicate in English, as the program will be delivered in English.
9. Applicants must agree to provide baseline and endline business data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
10. Selected mills must consent to be part of communications activities, including interviews and success story documentation.
Duration/Stipend
Program Duration: 10 months (August 2025 – May 2026)
Training Format:
- Five 3-day in-person training modules, held every 2 months
- Each module targets a strategic area of mill development
- Between modules, half-day personalized coaching sessions are provided
