The 8th BRICS Young Innovator Prize, organized by South Africa’s Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), is a high-profile innovation competition spotlighting AI-based public service solutions and offering life-changing cash awards. This is the last chance to apply for the annual contest that will be showcased at the 10th BRICS Young Scientist Forum in Brasilia, happening 15–17 September 2025 under Brazil’s BRICS presidency.
The contest invites brilliant innovators under 40 from BRICS nations to pitch pre-market stage AI technologies aimed at improving government efficiency, citizen engagement, health delivery, public safety, or other areas of public service. With substantial rewards—USD 25,000 for first place, USD 15,000 for second, and USD 10,000 for third—this competition is a breakthrough opportunity to fast-track your innovation into global visibility and impact.

Beyond the financial prizes, selected finalists will present their projects directly before a jury composed of representatives from each BRICS country during the forum. Winners will gain international recognition, potential pilot or funding opportunities, and the prestige of affiliation with a transformative platform promoting technological excellence across BRICS nations.
If you are a young innovator in AI tech ready to address real-world public service challenges across BRICS nations, this prize provides urgent, high-value recognition and funding at a global platform. Submission is strictly one project per candidate, requiring original authorship and innovative focus. The prize is cash, with added prestige and networking impact—but it’s the forum presentation that often opens doors to partnerships, pilot deployments or investor interest.
Remember:
- Projects must be unlaunched, original, and targeted at public service enhancement.
- Submissions are in English, signed, and final upon submission.
- The jury will evaluate finalists via an in-person pitch during the BRICS Young Scientist Forum in Brasília in mid-September 2025.
This is your final call, a game-changing opportunity to elevate research into real public good across multi-national systems.
