THE MIT EMERGING TALENT CERTIFICATE IN COMPUTER AND DATA SCIENCE (CDS) PROGRAM 2025

Applications are now open for the 2025 MIT Emerging Talent Certificate in Computer and Data Science (CDS) Program. This yearlong online learning program, offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), aims to open up education to employment pathways for talented learners, including refugeesinternally displaced persons, and first-generation low-income students from historically marginalized backgrounds and underserved communities worldwide. By focusing on digital skills training for refugees, the program equips participants with the tools needed to succeed in the evolving tech landscape.

Requirements/ Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be refugees, internally displaced persons, or those impacted by forced migration from anywhere in the world.
  • A significant number of positions are reserved for women and applicants of refugee, asylee, or internally displaced status.
  • Some spots are available for low-income first-generation individuals.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have reliable access to a computer and internet.

This program not only addresses the educational needs of underserved communities but also emphasizes career development for refugees through a robust curriculum that prepares students for success in the computer science and data science fields.
