YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program – COHORT 52

Applications are now open for the YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program 2024 Cohort 52 (Onsite). The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is the United States government’s signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. Hosted at GIMPA in Accra, Ghana, the YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa caters to nine West African countries: Togo, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Cameroon, and Sierra Leone. This program offers leadership training for African youth in Accra, providing essential skills in Public Policy Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Civic Leadership.

The African youth leadership conference Accra 2024 is designed to be an innovative and game-changing experience. Participants will undergo a comprehensive capacity building program aimed at empowering young people to become the change they want to see in their communities.

The YALI West Africa Emerging Leaders Program helps participants build leadership skills and develop the tools needed to address challenges in their organizations, communities, and countries. Selected applicants for Cohort 52 registration will benefit from an immersive leadership training program at GIMPA YALI leadership training center.

The YALI RLC West Africa Cohort 52 offers an in-person opportunity for emerging leaders to connect, learn, and grow. Participants will be able to enhance their leadership capabilities and gain practical skills in entrepreneurship, civic leadership, and public policy. By attending the top leadership courses for African youth 2024 in Ghana, participants can expand their networks and work towards creating positive change across West Africa.

Requirements/ Eligibility Criteria

  • You must be between the ages of 18 – 35.
  • Must be a citizen of Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, or The Gambia.
  • Proficient in English.
  • A young person driving change within your organization, community, or country.
  • With demonstrated leadership capabilities and interest in Public Policy Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Civic Leadership.
