Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Columbia University Obama Foundation Scholars Program. The Obama Foundation Scholars Program at Columbia University brings together emerging leaders in social change from the United States and around the world who are committed to finding impactful solutions to challenges in their communities. Scholars complete a fully funded nine-month residency at Columbia World Projects (CWP), where they deepen their knowledge, build new skills, and expand their networks to accelerate their careers in social impact.

Requirements/Eligibility Criteria
The Obama Foundation Scholars Program at Columbia University seeks global leaders committed to service and inclusivity who meet the following criteria:
- Are rising leaders who have made significant contributions in their fields and are at a “breakthrough moment” in their careers.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to community impact and social change with a pledge to return to their communities post-program to apply their enhanced skills for long-term benefit.
- Are fluent in English (verbal, written, and spoken).
- Possess values of inclusivity, community orientation, resilience, and a desire to create social impact careers.
- Show a commitment to Columbia University’s mission of global leadership through community engagement.
