Requirements/Eligibility Criteria

  • Enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution in an African Union Member State at the time of submission.
  • Aged 35 years or below as of the essay submission deadline.
  • Open to students of all academic disciplines.
  • Individual submissions only; group or co-authored essays are strictly ineligible (you may submit only one essay).
  • Original, unpublished work written in English or French, spanning 1,000 to 1,200 words (excluding references, cover page, and appendices).
  • Compliance with Copyright Rules and AI Ethical Use Practice (plagiarized or substantially AI-generated entries will be disqualified).
  • Formatting as a Word (`.docx`) document, size 12 font, 1.5 line spacing, with a separate cover page bearing your name, institution, country, and contact details (the essay body must remain anonymous for blind judging).
