Requirements / Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the 2026/2027 GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders, applicants must meet all the following eligibility criteria:
1. Be nationals of, and currently residing in, a country in sub-Saharan Africa.
2. Intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa upon completing their MSc programme at LSHTM, contributing to health improvements in their home country.
3. Confirm financial need, demonstrating they cannot self-fund the programme without access to the GSK scholarship (via the online scholarship application portal).
4. Meet LSHTM’s English language requirements no later than 15 June 2026—failure to do so may lead to losing the scholarship to a reserve candidate.
5. Hold a first degree, equivalent to either a first class or upper second class (2:1) level.
6. Possess an offer of admission for the 2026–27 academic year for an eligible LSHTM London-based intensive MSc programme (excluding joint programmes such as MSc Global Mental Health, MSc One Health, MSc Health Policy, Planning & Financing, and MSc Veterinary Epidemiology).
7. Submit a complete Step 1 admission application well before the deadline, including payment of the £50 application fee.
8. Submit a complete Step 2 scholarship application, including all required documents, before the 4 March 2026, 16:00 (BST) deadline.
9. Ensure all supporting documents (including transcripts, references, and English language evidence) are uploaded before the deadline—late or incomplete files will automatically be rejected.
10. Apply only for eligible non-distance learning intensive MSc programmes offered at LSHTM’s London campus.
Duration / Stipends
This scholarship supports a one-year full-time MSc programme in London at LSHTM.
Each scholarship covers:
