Requirement/Eligibility

3. All applicants must submit a portfolio of 15–20 JPEG images (2000 pixels on the longest side), showcasing their photographic style and storytelling.
4. A detailed project proposal is required (25-word synopsis + 500–1000-word project statement) outlining the narrative focus, community connection, and storytelling vision for the 12-month period.
5. A short bio (up to 1,500 characters) and social media handles are required.
6. Applicants must agree to the Vital Impacts Code of Ethics and sign the Environmental Grant Agreement upon selection.
7. Applications must be submitted via the Picter platform with a $25 application fee (fee waiver available for photographers in developing nations or those with financial hardship).
8. Applicants must not reside in countries or territories under comprehensive international sanctions.
