The Youth Digital Health Champions (Y-DHC) program seeks to identify, profile, and connect dynamic young leaders who are actively shaping the digital health landscape across Africa. Champions will serve as role models, advocates, and collaborators in advancing digital health innovation, policy, and practice. The initiative aims to build a visible and impactful network that can inform policies, strengthen local innovation ecosystems, and amplify youth leadership across the continent.

Requirements/Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Y-DHC program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Age: Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application
- Citizenship: Must be from an African Union member state
- Africans in the diaspora are also eligible
- Language Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following languages:
- English, French, Arabic, Portuguese
- (Ability to participate on cross-lingual platforms is an advantage)
- Involvement in Digital Health: Must be actively engaged in at least one of the following:
- Health tech innovation (startups, platforms, apps, etc.)
- Digital tools in public health programs
- Research, academic work in digital health
- Policy advocacy or digital health strategy
- Capacity-building or digital literacy initiatives
Duration / Stipend
- Program Length: 12 months
- While not a salaried fellowship, participants gain access to funding pathways, seed capital opportunities, sponsorships, and continental-scale recognition
