JournalismAI Strategy Lab

JournalismAI Strategy Lab 2026 for African Journalists and Media Professionals

Brief Description

The JournalismAI Strategy Lab, previously known as the JournalismAI Academy, is a no-cost, five-week online programme designed for journalists and media professionals across Africa. Developed by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) team and supported by Google, this initiative helps newsrooms move beyond basic experimentation with AI in journalism to make deliberate, informed decisions about integrating new tools. Whether you are working in North Africa, Southern Africa, or anywhere in between, this programme brings together a cohort of up to 20 participants for expert-led masterclasses, hands-on workshops, and peer learning. If you want to build a concrete action plan for your newsroom and navigate the unique linguistic, resource, and editorial realities of the continent, this opportunity is built for you.
