Requirements/Eligibility Criteria

Must be a researcher affiliated with a university outside Austria.
Must not have been employed by the University of Vienna at any time in the last six months.
Must propose a research project that aligns with the Faculty of Law’s research priorities.
Must provide a letter of endorsement from a university professor, habilitated staff member, associate professor, or assistant professor at the Faculty of Law.
Must submit all required application components, including a maximum three-page application letter, a maximum three-page CV, and a supervision agreement from the host institution.

Financial Support

For the summer semester of 2027, the Faculty of Law offers tiered monthly financial support depending on your academic standing:

Senior Fellowships for professors provide financial support of EUR 1,050 per month.
Junior Fellowships for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers provide financial support of EUR 800 per month.
