Who Can Apply

  • You are applying for a new full-time graduate course on the eligible list and are offered a place.
  • You are ordinarily resident in a country on the scheme’s eligible list. Check the list on the Oxford page, because your “nationality and ordinary residence” answers in the application decide eligibility.
  • You plan to return to your country of ordinary residence after the course.
  • You can show how your studies link to long-term goals that will benefit public life in your home country, your region or internationally.
  • You do not hold a deferred offer to start in 2027-28.
  • You are not a current Oxford student, unless you are already a Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholar.

How to Apply for the 2027-28 Intake

  1. Pick an eligible Oxford graduate course and read its course page for the application deadline. Most are in December or January.
  2. Start the Oxford graduate application form.
  3. In the University of Oxford Scholarships section, select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.
  4. Check that your nationality and ordinary residence details are accurate.
  5. Complete the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement and upload it with your application, by the same course deadline.
  6. Submit the full application by the course deadline.

Applications held over to the March deadline, or placed on a waiting list, are not considered for this scholarship.

The Leadership Programme

Scholars join a one-year Leadership Programme alongside their course. It includes philosophical discussions, business skills sessions and professional communication training, within a supportive community of fellow scholars.

The award does not cover every cost, so plan separately for the UK student visa, the health surcharge, flights and personal items, and check current fees on the official UK government and Oxford pages.
