2025 ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship

Applications are now open for the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship 2024-2025. According to an agreement between the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO), up to 40 students from developing countries will be awarded a fully funded PhD scholarship in China to pursue doctoral degrees for up to 4 years. This opportunity aims to foster young scientists by supporting them in conducting impactful research at top institutions.

The CAS-ANSO Scholarship (formerly known as the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents) was officially launched in 2019, aiming to support young scientists worldwide. The program has two categories: the degree program and non-degree program. Under the degree program, the scholarship provides funding for between 100 and 300 Master’s and PhD students every year, enabling them to pursue postgraduate education at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), or other institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences across China.
