CRS 519 Required in New Canada Express Entry CEC Draw

CRS Score Hits 519 as Canada Invites 2,500 CEC Candidates

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) just issued 2,500 invitations to apply for permanent residence in a fresh Canadian Experience Class draw on October 15, 2026.

To clear the cut-off for this round, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 519. IRCC also applied a strict tie-breaking timestamp: only candidates who created their Express Entry profile before 7:00:47 p.m. UTC on September 21, 2026, made the cut.

If you are already working in Canada and landed an invitation, your operational focus shifts immediately to putting your permanent residence application together. For applicants whose current work permits are ticking down while they wait out the permanent residence pipeline, timing is everything.

You may be eligible to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) once your PR application is officially submitted. If your current work permit expires before the BOWP is approved, maintained status kicks in. That means you can legally keep working under your exact previous permit conditions, provided you stay put in Canada while the paperwork processes. Qualifying family members can also pick up open work permits along the way.
